macOS Setup Guide

Configure your Mac to route all DNS queries through Dnsway.1 for content filtering.

What You'll Need

Open System Settings

Click the Apple menu (🍎) in the top-left corner and select System Settings. Alternatively, click the gear icon in your Dock, or search "System Settings" using Spotlight (⌘ + Space).

Go to Network Settings

In System Settings, click on Network in the sidebar. Select your active connection — either Wi-Fi or Ethernet (Thunderbolt Bridge / USB LAN).

Open Connection Details

Click the Details button next to your connected network. This opens a detailed settings panel for that specific connection.

Configure DNS Servers

Click on the DNS tab. Click the + button under the DNS servers list and enter your Dnsway.1 DNS address. Remove any existing servers by selecting them and clicking the button.

Apply the Changes

Click OK to close the details panel, then click Apply in the main Network window. Your Mac is now using Dnsway.1 for DNS resolution.

Done! Your Mac is now protected. You can verify by visiting a website — blocked categories will be filtered automatically.
⚠️ Important: You need to configure DNS separately for each network connection (Wi-Fi, Ethernet, VPN). If your Mac connects to multiple networks, repeat these steps for each one.
